Then you found the right place! At Trainers Toolbox, we offer a unique and engaging online internship experience.
As an intern, you’ll have the chance to tailor your journey with hands-on learning and deep insights on how to become a trainer & how to develop your skills in shaping memorable learning experiences.
What is a trainer and facilitator?
A trainer is someone who designs and delivers workshops on diverse topics - from presentation skills or communication skills to positive psychology topics such as wellbeing.
Trainers Toolbox focuses specifically on guiding trainers to keep improving their skills in workshop design and delivery through various workshops and tools.
A facilitator in the context of training refers to someone who guides and supports a group during a learning process, rather than simply delivering information.
While Trainers Toolbox primarily works with trainers, facilitation is an essential skillsset for every trainer who looks to create deep, experiential learning experiences. That is why on Trainers Toolbox one of our main focus areas is development of facilitation skills for trainers.
What does the internship look like?
Within your internship, you will have a chance to:

Here is what previous interns say
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- The internship is open for anybody interested in training and facilitation (and potentially positive psychology). Most of our previous interns had a background in psychology, philosophy, or business.
It is unpaid. As it is focused on your learning and exploring new skills, it therefore takes quite a big investment of time from Trainers Toolbox for mentoring. To compensate you for your time, it is possible to get a spot on some of Happiness Academy and Trainers Toolbox courses - but this is subject to what exact course might be running during your internship so make sure to check in about the options.
Your interest should be aligned with the activities and values of Trainers Toolbox. Background in positive psychology is a plus but is by no means a requirement. Being honest and comprehensive in your application is important, so there can be a right fit for you. The only truly important requirement is a high level of personal responsibility - if you commit to taking over a certain task and responsibility, it is important that you follow it through.
Interns who get the most out of the experience are proactive, creative, and passionate about positive psychology.
You can expect a lot of independence in your work style, where you create your own schedule, are assigned several tasks simultaneously that align with your goals for the internship and are supported with monthly zoom calls with your mentor. Most communication is coordinated over email, and organizational websites such as Asana and Notion, as well as Zoom calls based on specific tasks and regular sync up calls (usually monthly or bi-weekly).
Applications are open all year long, apply now! But be aware that applying ideally six months in advance is preferred as it can ensure better organization and you will be more likely to fill an open spot quickly.
Depends on the moment in which you join the internship and the tasks at hand. If other interns will be interning at the same time, then there may be minimal collaboration across tasks and group calls to organize some overarching topics, but most of your work is between you and Mirna. This allows you to have more complete hands-on experiences to develop your skills and interests. However, there is still a collegial, supportive, and positive community among interns and Mirna that everyone benefits from.
This depends on your University’s requirements. Most Universities require an experienced supervisor, which Mirna can offer, as she is an MSc graduate in applied positive psychology.
English is the main language, as 90% of the work is in English. It is an advantage if you speak Croatian, but by no means a requirement.
